Sustained‐Release Sitagliptin Microneedles for Scar Prevention via Fibroblast‐to‐Adipocyte Conversion

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
The authors propose a novel use for the conventional hypoglycemic drug, dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP4+) inhibitor sitagliptin. Sitagliptin prevents scar formation during wound healing through fibroblast‐to‐adipocyte conversion at least by preventing DPP4‐mediated truncation of IGF‐1.

Insulin Out‐of‐Pocket Spending Caps and Employer‐Sponsored Insurance: Changes in Out‐of‐Pocket and Total Costs for Insulin and Healthcare

open access: yesHealth Services Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To estimate the impact of state‐level insulin out‐of‐pocket caps on changes in out‐of‐pocket and total costs of insulin and healthcare for insulin users with employer‐sponsored insurance. Study Setting and Design We evaluated changes in costs using a quasi‐experimental (triple difference‐in‐differences; “DDD”) design to analyze multi‐

Epigenetic Age Acceleration and Cardiometabolic Biomarkers in Response to Weight‐Loss Dietary Interventions Among Obese Individuals: The MACRO Trial

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
In a 12‐month weight‐loss trial, DunedinPACE was associated with cardiometabolic biomarkers at baseline, but not over time. No evidence supported epigenetic clocks as mediators of intervention effects, raising caution about their causal mechanisms as short‐term intervention targets for healthy aging. ABSTRACT Epigenetic clocks have emerged as promising

Canagliflozin Reprograms the Aging Hippocampus in Genetically Diverse UM‐HET3 Mice and Attenuates Alzheimer's‐Like Pathology

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin enhances hippocampal function, reduces Aβ pathology, and improves cognitive function in male mice, while females show limited benefits, revealing sex‐specific neuroprotective responses across aging and Alzheimer's models. ABSTRACT Aging is the strongest risk factor for cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet the mechanisms ...
