Broadband dielectric response of glycerol and propylene carbonate: a comparison

open access: yes, 1998
Dielectric data on glycerol and propylene carbonate covering 18 decades of frequency are presented and compared to each other. Both materials exhibit qualitatively similar behavior except for marked differences in the high-frequency region just below the

Conférence Chevreul

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2004
In this study two major strategy of transformation of the vegetables substrate are exposed. The first approach is related to the study of the catalytic heterocyclisation of natural glycerin in the glycerol carbonate.

Role of the synthesis route on the properties of hybrid LDH-graphene as basic catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Layered double hydroxides (LDH or HT) or their derived mixed oxides present marked acid-base properties useful in catalysis, but they lead to agglomerate inducing a weak accessibility to the active sites.

Copper-Catalyzed Asymmetric Sulfonylative Desymmetrization of Glycerol

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Glycerol is the main side product in the biodiesel manufacturing process, and the development of glycerol valorization methods would indirectly contribute the sustainable biodiesel production and decarbonization.

Variation of benzyl anions in MgAl-layered double hydroxides: Fire and thermal properties in PMMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Magnesium aluminum layered double hydroxides (MgAl-LDHs) intercalated with a range of benzyl anions were prepared using the coprecipitation method. The benzyl anions differ in functionality (i.e.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

A Rapid and Green Method for the Preparation of Solketal Carbonate from Glycerol

open access: yesReactions
Glycerol is a biogenic waste that is generated in both the biodiesel and oleo-chemical industries. The value addition of surplus glycerol is of utmost importance for making these industries economically profitable.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Boiler ash as catalyst for the catalytic synthesis of organic carbonates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Over the years production of crude glycerol has been in an increasing pattern due to the rapid growth of biodiesel industry. Therefore, the market value of glycerol has dropped drastically in recent years.
