Abstract Commercial row crop production in the midsouthern United States is characterized by extensive application of inorganic soil inputs and management practices that contribute to degraded soil health. This study was conducted to determine if cover crops affect spatial or temporal changes in soil chemical properties in a raised, stale seedbed ...

Utilisation of SSRs for Characterisation of the Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) Genetic Resources
The SSR profiles of 67 soybean genotypes of various origins have been detected by 188 alleles at the 18 SSR loci. From 4 to 21 alleles were found at each of these loci (average 10.4 per locus) and the gene diversity averaged 0.71.

Peanut response following soybean grown full‐season or double‐cropped after wheat in North Carolina
Abstract Including soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] in the previous cropping cycle can adversely affect peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) yield by increasing disease incidence and populations of plant‐parasitic nematodes in the soil. The impact of double‐cropping wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and soybean versus full‐season soybean (referred to as the soybean

Bacillus sp., fertilization forms, and salt stress on soybean production
The use of Bacillus sp. mitigates salt stress and increases the productive yield in soybean plants. In this context, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the production of soybean grown under different forms of fertilization and salt stress,

ABILITY OF COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE SOYBEAN BRADYRHIZOBIA INOCULANTS FOR COOL GROWING CONDITIONS IN CENTRAL EUROPE [PDF]
In Central Europe the inoculation of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) with different Bradyrhizobia inoculants has led to unsatisfying nodulation results under low temperature conditions.

Soybean and tobacco response to sublethal rates of herbicides used along roadsides
Abstract Herbicides are one of the primary tools for vegetation management along roadsides. However, the drift of particles and vapors from herbicide applications along roadsides can cause damage and yield loss in adjacent sensitive crops. The objective of this research was to investigate the response of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] and tobacco ...

At‐plant application of nitrogen effects on ultra‐late planted soybean behind corn in South Carolina
Abstract Over the last decade, corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean [Glycine max L. (Merr.)] commodity prices have fluctuated considerably and, more recently, increases in input prices have narrowed profit margins. Non‐traditional cropping systems that can boost profits are of increased interest to farmers in South Carolina, specifically double‐cropping ...
