Identification of QTLs for branching in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

Euphytica, 2017
In soybean, the number of branches directly affects total pod number per plant. In this study, we sought to identify QTLs and candidate genes associated with branching in 200 F6 recombinant inbred lines derived from a cross between Jiyu69 and SS0404-T5-76, which exhibit significant differences in branch number.

Genetic divergence in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)

2005
Genetic divergence among twenty-one genotypes of soybean using Mahalanobis D2 statistics revealed considerable variability among the genotypes for eight characters. The genotypes were grouped into four distinct clusters. The inter-cluster distances were larger than the intra-cluster distances suggesting wider genetic diversity among the genotypes of ...

Registration of “Maya” Variety of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill)]

Journal of Global Agriculture and Ecology, 2023
Maya (PI-567190) soybean was developed by the Fedis Agricultural Research Center and was released in 2023. It is a high yielding medium maturity group variety adapted to the eastern Ethiopia particularly east Oromia. Then the trial was developed to evaluate and release stable high yielding and disease resistant/tolerant soybean variety for the east ...

Character Association Analysis in Soyben(Glycine max(L)Merrill.)

MADRAS AGRICULTURAL JOURNAL, 1975
In a study on correlation with 30 F2 populations of soybean.seed yield was observed to be positively associated with the number of pods.nodes and branches and heigh of plant.Path coefficient analysis showed hat the number of pods per plant was the major factor contributing to yield followed by 100-seed weight and number of nodes. As such.due emphasis ...

Apical proliferation of embryogenic tissue of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

Plant Cell Reports, 1988
Somatic embryos and embryogenic tissues were initiated from immature zygotic embryos of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill cv. 'Fayette']. Zygotic embryos were placed on a medium containing 40 mg/l of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 6% sucrose. Somatic embryos were first seen 4 weeks after cultures were initiated.

Induced morphological mutants in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

Frontiers of Agriculture in China, 2009
The seeds of two soybean cultivars viz., Pusa-16 and PK-1042 were treated with 15, 30, and 45 kR of gamma rays, three concentrations of ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS) (0.1%, 0.2%, and 0.3%), and their combinations. Various morphological mutants were recorded in M2 and M3 generations.

Arthropod Diversity in Soybean (Glycine max(L.) MERRILL) with Tagetes erecta

CLSU International Journal of Science and Technology, 2023
Habitat manipulation aims to conserve insect population on agricultural landscapes by augmenting and conserving the population of natural enemies of pests or biological control agents. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of habitat manipulation on the yield of soybean by assessing the population of insects and other associated arthropods.

Inheritance of pod shattering in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill.]

Journal of Oilseeds Research, 2017
In the present investigation, inheritance of pod shattering in soybean was studied in three crosses involving four parents, among them MACS-450 and DS-9712 were tolerant to pod shattering while Monetta and Kalitur were susceptible to pod shattering. The contrasting parents were used to develop three cross combinations viz., Monetta × MACS-450, Kalitur ×

Mutagenic Effectiveness and Efficiency in Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

Madras Agricultural Journal, 2015
Comparative mutagenic effectiveness and efficiency of EMS and gamma rays were studied in two varieties of soybean (Co(Soy)3 and JS-335) in terms of M2 progenies ; lethality and injury on the basis of chlorophyll and viable mutation frequency. Both mutagens produced high frequency as well as wide spectrum of mutations. The frequency of mutation was high
