Wasteosomes accumulate in periventricular white matter hyperintensities and exhibit complex relationships with mixed pathology, sclerotic index, and perivascular space

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
In a mixed diagnostic cohort of pathologically diagnosed Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular disease, mixed pathology, and control tissue, we connected the histopathological wasteosome profile in periventricular (PV) brain sections to 7T FLAIR‐MRI confirmed PV white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), vascular stenosis and perivascular space size ...

Clinical features and rare complications in 132 patients with hepatic glycogenosis

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases
Background Glycogen storage diseases (GSDs) with liver involvement are classified into subtypes—types 0, Ia, and Ib; III, IV, VI, IX, and XIa, XIb, and XIc, depending on the deficient enzyme. Hypoglycemia and hepatomegaly (except type 0) are hallmarks of

Sonographic findings in type I glycogen storage disease

open access: yes, 2001
PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to document the sonographic appearance and dimensions of the liver and spleen in patients affected by type I glycogen storage disease and to correlate those findings with laboratory data to evaluate the potential role ...

PDE4D and PDE3B orchestrate distinct cAMP microdomains in 3T3‐L1 adipocytes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Basal conditions: •Ins/PDE3B lowers cytoplasmic cAMP (cyt‐cAMP) without affecting plasma membrane cAMP (pm‐cAMP). •Insulin decreases lipid droplet cAMP (LD‐cAMP) independent of PDE3B. •FGF1/PDE4D modestly reduces both cyt‐ and pm‐cAMP, while PDE4D alone can modulate LD‐cAMP. ISO stimulation: •Ins/PDE3B has minimal impact on cyt‐cAMP.

Hepatocellular adenoma in glycogen storage disease type IV.

open access: yesArchives of pathology & laboratory medicine, 1994
The development of hepatocellular adenoma has been recognized in association with glycogen storage disease type I and, less often, with glycogen storage disease type III, but, to our knowledge, it has not been reported in glycogen storage disease type IV.

LMTK2 Inhibits Metastasis of Colon Cancer Cells Through p38 MAPK

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
LMTK2 suppresses colon cancer metastasis by acting as a kinase‐independent scaffold that directly binds p38, blocking its interaction with MKK3/6 and subsequent phosphorylation, thereby inhibiting the downstream pro‐metastatic gene program. ABSTRACT Metastasis is the leading cause of death in patients with colon cancer. Although Lemur tyrosine kinase 2

Additive Glucagonotropic and Insulinotropic Effects of Glucose‐Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide and Alanine in Fasted Healthy Men

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims/Hypothesis Glucose‐dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) is a bidirectional glucose‐stabilising hormone potentiating insulin secretion at high glucose levels and glucagon secretion during normal‐to‐low plasma glucose levels. Preclinically, GIP and the amino acid alanine show synergistic glucagonotropic effects at low glucose levels ...

Metabarcoding of Pollen Carried by Syrphids Reveals Novel Plant–Pollinator Interactions in a Protected Natural Area and Agricultural Sites

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
Using DNA metabarcoding, this study investigates pollen transported by syrphids (Syrphidae) in the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and agricultural sites in Northern Italy. The analysis reveals a high diversity of visited plant taxa, including previously undocumented plant–pollinator interactions.
