Enhanced Marine Biodegradability of Poly(Lactic Acid)‐Based Polyurethanes via Alkylene Diglycolate Incorporation

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 1, January 2026.
To enhance the marine biodegradability of poly(L‐lactic acid) (PLLA), novel PLLA‐based polyurethanes (PLLAUs) were synthesized by incorporating alkylene diglycolate units. These PLLAUs showed improved degradation in seawater and superior mechanical properties while keeping a relatively high melting temperature (Tm).
