Separation of glycols from dilute aqueous solutions via complexation with boronic acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This work examines methods of separating low molecular weight glycols from dilute aqueous solution. Extraction into conventional solvents is generally not economical, since, in the literature reviewed, distribution ratios for the two- to four-carbon ...

Aspects of environment, health and safety at construction

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2013
The largest segment of workforce in the country belongs to the unorganized sector. The Planning Commission set up a working Group which identified seven sectors namely- agriculture, construction, shops and establishments , beedi and cigar manufacturing ,

Derivatives of Aluminium with Glycols and Catechol

open access: yes, 1962
Reactions of aluminium isopropoxide with glycols (ethylene, 1,3-, 2, 3-, 1.4.butylene, bexylene glycols, and pinacol) have been studied. The reaction in the molar ratio of 1:1 affords monoisopropoxy glycollates whereas the reaction with excess of glycols

Alcohols for hydrate inhibition – Different alcohols and different mechanisms

open access: yesPetroleum, 2022
Methanol has been used to prevent hydrate formation in industrial handling of hydrate forming mixtures containing water for many decades. Ethanol is also used for the same purpose in countries that have easy access to low price ethanol, like for instance

Reactions of Stannic alkoxides with Glycols

open access: yes, 1966
A number of di-isopropoxy mono-glycollate and diglycollate derivatives of tin have been described for the first time by the reaction between stannic isopropoxide and various glycols in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios.

INTERACTION OF TEMAZEPAM WITH CERTAIN MACROMOLECULES: IV- PHASE DIAGRAM OF TEMAZEPAM-POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL BINARY SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Assiut University, 1988
Differential scanning calorimetery and hot stage microscopy were used to build up temperature-composition phase diagrams for temazepam-polyethylene glycol 2000, 4000 and 6000 physical mixtures and comprecipitates. The phase diagram showed the systems to

Hemodynamic responses to glycols and to hemolysis

open access: yes, 1969
Ethylene and propylene glycol both decrease renal blood flow in dogs while increasing flow through the superior mesenteric artery. The decrease in renal blood flow is not a passive response to dilatation of major vascular beds since it precedes the ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Relationship between Friction Coefficient, Viscosity and Compressibility of Polyethylene Glycol

open access: yesTribology Online, 2008
An ultrasonic liquid processor with the frequency of 20 kHz was used to cleave a principal chain in a polyethylene glycol molecule. The amount of the lubricant molecules cleaved by the ultrasonic disruption was evaluated by the kinematic viscosity ...

Rhenium-Catalyzed Deoxydehydration of Glycols by Sulfite

open access: yes, 2016
Methyltrioxorhenium and sodium perrhenate catalyze the deoxydehydration of glycols and deoxygenation of epoxides to olefins in moderate yields with sulfite as the ...
