Advances in the diagnosis, immunopathogenesis and therapies of IgM-anti-MAG antibody-mediated neuropathies. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Polyneuropathy with immunoglobulin M (IgM) monoclonal gammopathy is the most common paraproteinemic neuropathy, comprising a clinicopathologically and immunologically distinct entity.

The subcellular distribution of phosphorylated Y‐box‐binding protein‐1 at S102 in colorectal cancer patients, stratified by KRAS mutational status and clinicopathological features

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies nuclear YB‐1 S102 phosphorylation as a marker associated with KRAS and FBXW7 mutations in colorectal cancer. Mutated KRAS correlates specifically with nuclear, not cytoplasmic, S102 YB‐1. These findings provide the first ex vivo evidence of this link in CRC and suggest future studies should assess the prognostic and therapeutic ...

Efficient Expression and Processing of Ebola Virus Glycoprotein Induces Morphological Changes in BmN Cells but Cannot Rescue Deficiency of Bombyx Mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus GP64

open access: yesViruses, 2019
Ebola virus (EBOV) disease outbreaks have resulted in many fatalities, yet no licensed vaccines are available to prevent infection. Recombinant glycoprotein (GP) production may contribute to finding a cure for Ebola virus disease, which is the key ...

Immunoinformatics Approach to Design a Multi-Epitope Vaccine against Cutaneous Leishmaniasis

open access: yesVaccines, 2023
Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL), a neglected vector-borne disease caused by protozoan parasite Leishmania major (L. major), is a major public health concern, and the development of new strategies to reduce the disease incidence has become a top priority ...

Procalcitonin is a glycoprotein.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1981
Messenger RNA extracted from rat medullary carcinoma of the thyroid directs the synthesis in cell-free translation systems of a precursor of calcitonin, Mr = 15,000, substantially larger than the mature form of the hormone, Mr = 3,500. When translations of the mRNA were carried out in the presence of microsomal membranes prepared from a canine pancreas,

Comparison of early invasive and conservative strategies in patients with unstable coronary syndromes treated with the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor tirofiban.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2001
BACKGROUND There is continued debate as to whether a routine, early invasive strategy is superior to a conservative strategy for the management of unstable angina and myocardial infarction without ST-segment elevation. METHODS We enrolled 2220 patients

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Analysis of Determinants in Filovirus Glycoproteins Required for Tetherin Antagonism

open access: yesViruses, 2014
The host cell protein tetherin can restrict the release of enveloped viruses from infected cells. The HIV-1 protein Vpu counteracts tetherin by removing it from the site of viral budding, the plasma membrane, and this process depends on specific ...

Evaluation and validation on cellular immunoreactivity of Hantaan virus Gc

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报, 2023
Objective To screen, identify and verify the immunoreactive epitopes on Hantaan virus glycoprotein C-terminal (HTNV Gc). Methods On the basis of predicting the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) gene in more than 98% of the global population, the ...
