The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

A preliminary field trial to compare control techniques for invasive Berberis aquifolium in Belgian coastal dunes [PDF]
Non-native Berberis aquifolium is an invasive species in Belgian coastal dunes. With its strong clonal growth through suckers, this evergreen shrub outcompetes native species and affects dune succession.

Is glyphosate-resistant ryegrass resistant to paraquat?
Sequestration of herbicide into vacuoles is considered to be the main mechanism of resistance to both glyphosate and paraquat worldwide. In New Zealand, the first case of glyphosate resistance was found in ryegrass (Lolium) species, and the restricted herbicide translocation was found to be the main mechanism of resistance in the ...

ABSTRACT This study analyzes farmers' preferences for sustainable crop protection, focusing on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices by incorporating social‐psychological factors to capture economic and behavioral dimensions. Using data from German and Polish potato farmers, we apply an integrated choice and latent variable framework that combines

Effects of Glyphosate on the Planktonic Microbiota: An Experimental Approach
ABSTRACT Glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world, including in Brazil, and its dispersion through habitats and surface waters can impact entire aquatic ecosystems. However, experimental studies evaluating the effects of pesticides on whole planktonic communities, considering attributes such as richness, density and composition—

Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of Glyphosate and a Glyphosate-Containing Herbicide in Salmonella enterica Isolates Originating from Different Time Periods, Hosts, and Serovars [PDF]
Glyphosate, the active compound of Roundup, is one of the most used pesticides in the world. Its residues are often detected in animal feed, but the impact on the animal gut microbiota and on pathogens of the intestine has not intensively been ...

Nanomaterials' Multigenerational Effects by Single and Joint Exposure in Non‐mammalian Models
ABSTRACT Nanotoxicology has mainly focused on single‐generation studies, leaving multigenerational toxicity underexplored. Having animal welfare recently gained importance, we aimed to provide the state‐of‐the‐art of knowledge about multigenerational effects in non‐mammalian models in the case of nanomaterials (NM) single and joint exposure to other ...

Soil microbial communities in restored and unrestored coastal dune ecosystems in California [PDF]
Most restoration projects involving invasive plant eradication tend to focus on plant removal with little consideration given to how these invasives change soil microbial communities.

2,4-D antagonizes glyphosate in glyphosate-resistant barnyard grass Echinochloa colona.
Glyphosate is often tank-mixed with auxinic herbicide 2,4-D for grass and broadleaf weed control. Here we examined the possible interaction of 2,4-D and glyphosate in barnyard grass, Echinochloa colona (L.) Link. The results showed that 2,4-D antagonizes glyphosate remarkably in glyphosate-resistant populations but only marginally in susceptible ...
