Sourgrass Resistance Mechanism to the Herbicide Glyphosate [PDF]

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2019
: The knowledge on the mechanism that gives a weed resistance to a particular herbicide is essential regarding scientific, academic, and practical aspects because it determines the recommendations for prevention and management of resistance in the field.

Glyphosate efficacy, absorption and translocation for Eragrostis plana control

open access: yesAdvances in Weed Science, 2022
Abstract Background Glyphosate is the most effective herbicide to control the invasive and perennial Eragrostis plana in Southern Brazil. However, one application has not been sufficient to prevent the regrowth of plants. Objective: The aim of this research was to evaluate the efficacy of glyphosate sprayed alone or mixed with fluazifop-p-butyl or ...

Glyphosate translocation in hairy fleabane (Conyza bonariensis) biotypes [PDF]

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2008
The objective of this work was to evaluate the translocation of glyphosate in C. bonariensis plants resistant and susceptible to that herbicide. The 14C-glyphosate was mixed with commercial gyhphosate (800 g ha-1) and applied on the center of the adaxial face of a third node leaf, using a micro syringe, and adding 10 µL of a solution with specific ...

Temperature influences glyphosate efficacy on glyphosate-resistant and -susceptible goosegrass (Eleusine indica)

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Glyphosate has been widely used to control Eleusine indica and other weeds in South China for many years. Among the most troublesome weeds in South China, E. indica can remain alive all year round.

Antioxidant Enzyme and Cytochrome P450 Activities Are Involved in Horseweed (Conyza Sumatrensis) Resistance to Glyphosate

open access: yesStresses, 2022
The intensive global use of glyphosate has led to the evolution of glyphosate resistant (GR) weed species, including the economically damaging horseweed (Conyza sumatrensis). We evaluated the glyphosate resistance mechanisms of C. sumatrensis.

Absorption, Translocation, and Metabolism of Glyphosate and Imazethapyr in Smooth Pigweed with Multiple Resistance

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
The evolution of herbicide-resistant weeds is the major challenge for chemical management worldwide, increasing production costs, and reducing yield. This work aimed to evaluate the putative resistance of the Amaranthus hybridus population from Candido ...

Translocation and Root Exudation of Glyphosate by Urochloa brizantha and its Transport on Sugarcane and Citrus Seedlings [PDF]

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2019
: Glyphosate is easily exuded by the roots of plants. However, there is still some lack of information in the scientific literature as to whether Urochloa brizantha is capable of exuding glyphosate to influence the growth of crops such as sugarcane and ...

Translocation of Glyphosate in Cirsium arvense

open access: yesHortScience, 1984
Abstract The extent and time required for translocation of glyphosate [N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine] in Canada thistle [Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop.] was determined by application to single shoots of a rhizome system and detachment of treated shoots at intervals.

Target and Non-Target Site Mechanisms Developed by Glyphosate-Resistant Hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.) Populations from Mexico

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
In 2014 hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.) has been identified as being glyphosate-resistant in citrus orchards from Mexico. The target and non-target site mechanisms involved in the response to glyphosate of two resistant populations (R1 and R2) and ...

Translocation of Glyphosate in Strawberry Stolons

open access: yesHortScience, 1985
Abstract Field growing nonfruiting strawberries (Fragaria x ananassa Duch. ‘Midway’) were treated with (methyl-14C) glyphosate (N-(phosphono-methyl)glycine] applied to the leaves of runner plants rapidly developing at the nodes of stolons. Seven days after application, 14C was distributed throughout the stolon and untreated new runner plants.
