GMD: Its Function and Its History [PDF]

open access: yesCataloging and Classification Quarterly, 2004
ABSTRACT The history, scope, and functions of the General Material Designation (GMD) are reviewed. Reasons for difficulties in using GMDs, the hybrid nature of GMDs, and their functional nature are examined. Future uses of GMD in an international context are discussed.

Constraints on emissions of carbon monoxide, methane, and a suite of hydrocarbons in the Colorado Front Range using observations of 14CO2 [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2013
Atmospheric radiocarbon (14C) represents an important observational constraint on emissions of fossil-fuel derived carbon into the atmosphere due to the absence of 14C in fossil fuel reservoirs.

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

A Generalized Multistep Dynamic (GMD) TOPMODEL

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2023
There is a lack of Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) formulations in numerical hydrology, contributing to the lack of application of canned adaptive timestep solvers; hence the continued dominance of fixed (e.g., Euler) timestep techniques despite ...
