Effect of Annealing on Off-Diagonal GMI Effect of Co-Rich Amorphous Microwires

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2014
We studied giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect and magnetic properties of Co 69.2 Fe 4.1 B 11.8 Si 13.8 C 1.1 amorphous as-prepared and annealed microwires. We observed that these properties can be tuned by heat treatment. High GMI effect has been observed in as-prepared Co-rich microwires.

Effect of Nanocrystallization on Magnetic Properties and GMI Effect of Fe-rich Microwires

Journal of Electronic Materials, 2014
We studied the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect and magnetic properties of Finemet-type FeCuNbSiB microwires. We observed that the GMI effect and magnetic softness of glass-coated microwires produced by the Taylor–Ulitovski technique can be tailored by controlling the magnetoelastic anisotropy of as-prepared FeCuNbSiB microwires, and can also be ...

Low Frequency Measurements in Amorphous Wire for Studying GMI Effect

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
When a soft ferromagnetic material is flown by an ac current and a magnetic field is applied at the same time, a major change of its impedance is occurred. The aim of this paper is to investigate the influence of low frequency (1KHz-12KHz) ac current and the applied magnetic field on an amorphous magnetic wire (Co68Fe4.35Si12.5B15) without glass ...

A method to generate high-frequency magnetic field for GMI effects

2010 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2010
In order to make an in-depth study on high-frequency characteristics of GMI effect, this article presents a practical method to generate the alternating magnetic field. Comparing three feasible ways, the microstrip line is the optimum selection. Based on equivalent analysis method and CST software simulation, the distributing of microstrip line ...

Effect of tensile stresses on GMI of Co-rich amorphous microwires

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2005
Co/sub 67/Fe/sub 3.85/Ni/sub 1.45/B/sub 11.5/Si/sub 14.5/Mo/sub 1.7/ glass-coated amorphous microwires were prepared by Taylor-Ulitovski method under applied tensile stress and its effects on the giant magneto-impedance (GMI) were studied. The impedance was evaluated using an impedance analyzer at frequency of 10 MHz and network analyzer at frequency ...

Practical Use of the GMI Effect to Make a Current Sensor

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2019
This paper deals with practical issues and solutions related to the use of the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) for electrical current measurement. It presents an overview of a full attempt of design and realization of an almost industrial GMI-based current sensor or clamp. The sensor combines dc and ac measurements with the same flexible sensitive element.

Enhanced GMI effect in NiZn-ferrite-modified Fe-based amorphous ribbons

Applied Physics A, 2015
A thin NiZn-ferrite layer was fabricated on the free surface of a Fe-based amorphous ribbon by radio frequency magnetron sputtering, and the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect was measured at different magnetic fields and frequencies. An enhanced GMI effect has been observed in the NiZn-ferrite-modified ribbon at all measured frequencies.

Large GMI effect in Co-rich amorphous wire by tensile stress

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2011
Abstract Quality Co 68 Fe 4.5 Si 15 B 12.5 amorphous wires are fabricated and their giant magneto impedance (GMI) effect are investigated at frequencies ranging from 0.1 to 20 MHz with or without tensile stress applied. Experimental results indicate that the GMI effect of these wires can be effectively improved by applying a small axial tensile ...

Studies of thin microwires with enhanced magnetic softness and GMI effect

physica status solidi (a), 2009
AbstractIn this paper we studied the hysteresis loop and GMI effect (real component of impedance, Z, and the off‐diagonal impedance tensor ζϕz (Hex)) in ultra‐thin amorphous glass‐coated microwires with nearly‐zero and negative magnetostriction constant with metallic nucleus diameter ranging from 6 μm to 16 μm paying special attention to the effect of ...

Tailoring of Magnetic Properties and GMI Effect in Thin Amorphous Wires

2014
We studied Giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect and magnetic properties of amorphous Fe-Co rich as-prepared and annealed microwires. We measured the GMI magnetic field and frequency dependences, hysteresis loops and domain walls (DWs) dynamics of composite microwires produced by the Taylor-Ulitovski technique.
