In this paper, with exploration of IP router and LSR first, a novel model of the GMPLS enabled router is presented. Under the definition, GMPLS enabled router is essentially a LSR with extension to support control of non packet switch capable data plane devices by drawing an abstract image over the device from the perspective of IP/MPLS stack.

Customer-oriented GMPLS service management
2004 Workshop on High Performance Switching and Routing, 2004. HPSR., 2004The concept of generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS) is an emerging control technology applied on different types of networks. It uses the same IP control plane (signaling and routing) in packet-based, TDM, as well as in optical switched networks. In this paper, we propose a management architecture, which allows a service provider to offer

GMPLS network security: Gap analysis
2008 Integrated Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Conference, 2008As contrasted to the management plane of today's and emerging networks architectures, the control plane will not be as easy to secure. The control plane is an emerging concept that is part of most large scale, high-speed next generation networks. This may also include the architectures that are being researched to go beyond Internet2. Today the control

GMPLS-based bandwidth on demand (BoD) service in the JGN II GMPLS network testbed
SPIE Proceedings, 2006GMPLS-based Bandwidth on Demand (BoD) service experiment using the GMPLS network testbed of JGN II was conducted, and GMPLS connections with GbE bandwidth were successfully established by our developed user-friendly web-based GUI on the demand basis. The combination of the GMPLS-based network and the user-supporting system was verified to enable the ...

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2016
GMPLS was introduced in 1999–2000. Considerable investments into GMPLS have been made since then. These investments can be protected: through an evolution process GMPLS can make its way into transport SDN.

A new GMPLS survivability mechanism
2006 8th International Conference Advanced Communication Technology, 2006GMPLS is the nucleus of next generation network technology. The research on the restoration method for the GMPLS are mostly using the concept of traditional method, but the features of GMPLS about recovery technology require the restoration method with some special requirements.

Analysis of GMPLS Implementation
2015Speed and mobility have been the driving factors in the history of communication. Today, mobility is made possible with the use of wireless communication. Increasing transmission speed can be obtained by the use of fiber-optic cable, faster switching electronic circuitry, as well as ever improving communication protocols.
