ABSTRACT Rutile provides a wealth of petrochronological information in metamorphic geology and due to its high stability during processes of the sedimentary cycle, rutile takes a special position in sedimentary provenance analysis. Besides being one of the classical minerals datable using the U–Pb system, rutile incorporates a broad range of trace ...

Late Cenozoic metamorphic evolution and exhumation of Taiwan [PDF]
The Taiwan mountain belt is composed of a Cenozoic slate belt (Hsuehshan Range units, HR, and Backbone Slates, BS) and of accreted polymetamorphic basement rocks (Tananao Complex, TC).

Gneiss and steatite vermicomposted with organic residues: release of nutrients and heavy metals
Purpose Use of silicate rock powders as fertilizer improves nutrient cycling, thus benefitting agriculture. The availability of nutrients to plants is often low, but can be increased when rock powder is vermicomposted and added.

An occurrence of monazite in Puumala, eastern Finland [PDF]
A monazite occurrence consisting of three monazite-bearing biotite-rich veins is described. The veins have pegmatitic affinities but are very inhomogeneous.

Coesite Discovery in Eclogites Confirms UHP Metamorphism in the Orlica‐Śnieżnik Dome (SW Poland)
ABSTRACT Eclogite lenses are exposed within the orthogneiss‐dominated core of the Orlica‐Śnieżnik Dome in the Sudetes, which forms the northeastern margin of the Bohemian Massif (Variscan Belt of Central Europe). The presence of coesite inclusions in garnet and omphacite confirms that these eclogites underwent ultrahigh‐pressure metamorphism.

Location, Location, Location: Monazite Behaviour During UHT Metamorphism and Melt Crystallization
ABSTRACT Monazite is a robust mineral for recording the suprasolidus evolution of migmatites and granulites. However, monazite commonly has diverse compositions and yields variable dates in a single sample; understanding the controls on monazite behaviour and composition during partial melting and melt crystallization are not always straightforward ...

Tectonic evolution of greenstone-Gneiss association in Dharwar Craton, South India: Problems and perspectives for future research [PDF]
The two fold stratigraphic subdivision of the Archean-Proterozoic greenstone-gneiss association of Dharwar craton into an older Sargur group (older than 2.9 Ga.) and a younger Dharwar Supergroup serves as an a priori stratigraphic model.

Decoding Metamorphic Nanodiamonds Formation Through Their Internal Structures
ABSTRACT Metamorphic diamonds offer insights into Earth's evolution, modulating the global carbon cycle through subduction into the mantle and exhumation. However, the formation and internal structure of minute diamonds remain poorly understood. Here, we study the internal structures of diamond‐bearing inclusions from the Eastern Alps using state‐of ...
