Extending RAIM with a Gaussian Mixture of Opportunistic Information [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
GNSS are indispensable for various applications, but they are vulnerable to spoofing attacks. The original receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) was not designed for securing GNSS. In this context, RAIM was extended with wireless signals, termed signals of opportunity (SOPs), or onboard sensors, typically assumed benign.

Continuous Subsidence of Dallol Volcano Caused by Magmatic, Hydrothermal, and Salt Dissolution Processes: Insights From InSAR Observations

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract The Dallol volcano on the axis of the Erta Ale ridge (Afar rift) offers an ideal opportunity to study the interaction between magmatic and hydrothermal processes. Volcanic activity in Dallol has developed in an area below sea level with a salt plain.

Towards a Self-rescuing System for UAVs Under GNSS Attack [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
There has been substantial growth in the UAV market along with an expansion in their applications. However, the successful execution of a UAV mission is very often dependent on the use of a GNSS. Unfortunately, the vulnerability of GNSS signals, due to their lack of encryption and authentication, poses a significant cybersecurity issue.

Magnetically Quiet‐Time Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances Over Mid‐Latitude Eastern Europe Observed by the Kharkiv Incoherent Scatter Radar During the 24th Solar Cycle

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract We have detected and characterize traveling ionospheric disturbances (TIDs) in the mid‐latitude ionosphere over Europe using data from the Kharkiv incoherent scatter (IS) radar. The study focused on observations near solstices and equinoxes during solar cycle 24 under magnetically quiet conditions.
