ABSTRACT The development of autonomous electric vehicles (AEVs) represents the convergence of two simultaneous automotive revolutions: electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs). AVs require sensors, decision‐making systems and actuation systems to achieve autonomous driving, whereas EVs require intelligent management and real‐time ...

ABSTRACT Power lines in synthetic‐aperture radar (SAR) images are reflected as point signatures, which fluctuate annually in both the azimuth and range directions. A novel framework is proposed in this paper to evaluate the four‐dimensional dynamic status of power line sag using those point signatures in time‐series SAR images.

A LSTM Algorithm Estimating Pseudo Measurements for Aiding INS during GNSS Signal Outages [PDF]
Aiming to improve the navigation accuracy during global navigation satellite system (GNSS) outages, an algorithm based on long short-term memory (LSTM) is proposed for aiding inertial navigation system (INS). The LSTM algorithm is investigated to generate the pseudo GNSS position increment substituting the GNSS signal.

GNSS/INS Integration Based on Machine Learning LightGBM Model for Vehicle Navigation
To solve the problem of data accuracy degradation of vehicle GNSS/INS integrated navigation systems when the GNSS signal is unavailable or there is a GNSS outage, this paper improves the existing GNSS/INS integration methodology for land vehicle ...

Abstract La Soufrière de Guadeloupe volcano exhibits microseismic activity dominated by volcano‐tectonic repeaters, mainly occurring in swarms clustered in a sub‐vertical conduit beneath the Tarissan acid lake (TAS) at depths less than 800 m. Following the April 2018 earthquake (Mlv 4.1), which likely damaged the dome, swarms intensified and show ...

LION Navigator for Transfer to GEO Using Electric Propulsion [PDF]
GNSS space receivers are widely used for onboard auton-omous navigation of spacecraft platforms in low Earth orbit. Navigation by GNSS up to geosynchronous altitude was made possible through the introduction of a Space Service Volume which defines signal

Abstract The unexpected collapse of the Marmolada Glacier in the Italian Alps on 3 July 2022, caused 11 fatalities and emphasized the need for a deeper understanding of unstable glaciers. In response, we initiated a radar monitoring campaign to assess the stability of the remaining ice cliff and obtained a near‐continuous data set of displacement at ...

An INS/GNSS fusion architecture in GNSS denied environment using gated recurrent unit
One of the most used Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) technology of the 21st century is Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). GNSS signals are affected by urban canyons that limit line-of-sight and reduce satellite availability to receivers ...

Abstract The May 2024 geomagnetic storm, one of the most intense events of Solar Cycle 25 to date, caused widespread disruptions in aviation operations, particularly for polar and high‐latitude routes. This study quantifies the operational and economic impacts of the storm on 12 selected transatlantic flights between North America and Europe.

Stand-alone and Hybrid Positioning using Asynchronous Pseudolites [PDF]
Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers are usually unable to achieve satisfactory performance in difficult environments, such as open-pit mines, urban canyons and indoors. Pseudolites have the potential to extend GNSS usage and significantly
