In this research work, we examined the decomposition mechanisms of N-substituted diacetamides. We focused on the substituent effect on the nitrogen lone-pair electron delocalization, with electron-withdrawing and electron donor groups.

Acoustic Detection of Underwater Air Bubbles Generated by Breaking Waves in an Antarctic Polynya
Abstract The Southern Ocean is a significant sink for anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere. The pelagic regions north of sea ice areas primarily absorb atmospheric CO2 via biological productivity and air‐sea gas exchange. The latter is enhanced by the bubbles generated by breaking waves.

Membrane Complexity and Phase Behavior Dictate the Stability of Membrane‐Inserted Aβ42 Hexamers
Neuronal membrane order and the specific interplay of constituent lipids modulate the structural stability of Aβ(1–42) hexamers. This lipid environment facilitates the stabilization of a transmembrane β‐barrel conformation, providing a molecular basis for understanding how membrane composition influences the formation of stable amyloid pores in ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Abstract The post‐collisional evolution of orogenic belts is commonly marked by high‐temperature metamorphism and widespread magmatism, yet the processes linking collision to post‐collisional dynamics remain difficult to reconstruct due to limited exposure of deep‐crustal levels and uncertainties in the determination of pressure‐temperature conditions ...

Coarse‐grained simulations show that the formation of transient anionic–cationic lipid pairs regulates the rate‐limiting step for the lamellar‐to‐hexagonal phase transition in mixtures of anionic and cationic lipids mimicking the endosomal membrane after fusion with lipid‐based nanoparticles, thus playing an important role in the endosomal escape of ...

Structural Modeling and Dynamics of the Full‐Length Homer1 Multimer
ABSTRACT Homer proteins are modular scaffold molecules that constitute an integral part of the protein network within the postsynaptic density. Full‐length Homer1 forms a large homotetramer via a long coiled coil region, and can interact with proline‐rich target sequences with its globular EVH1 domain.
