In this paper a system for goal directed integration of web services based on automated planning is presented. The increasing number of web services available on the net poses the problem of having efficient tools in order to integrate existing services for obtaining complex services which reflect user goals and needs.

Imitation of Gestures in Children is Goal-directed
The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology Section A, 2000The view that the motor program activated during imitation is organized by goals was investigated by asking pre-school children to imitate a set of hand gestures of varying complexity that were made by an experimenter sitting in front of them. In Experiments 1 and 3, children reached for the correct object (one of their own ears or one of two dots on ...

The motivational dominant in goal-directed behavior
Neuroscience and Behavioral Physiology, 1999The experimental studies of motivational dominants of thirst and hunger and "polarization" motor dominant as well as the analysis of formation of the I- and II-type conditioned responses lead to the conclusion that discontinuation of a motivational dominant plays a key role in goal-directed behavior.

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses cortical and subcortical potentials during goal-directed and serial goal-directed movements in humans. In a series of publications reported on cortical and subcortical movement-related potentials in humans. The results are gained during stereotaxic brain operations, while the patients are pressing a button ...

Anticipation and Emotions for Goal Directed Agents
2008A substantial part of this work is devoted to define goal directed architectures enabling anticipation through emotion and expectation processing. An ontology of anticipatory mental states (e.g., predictions, expectations, etc.) is provided to clarify what cognitive anticipation exactly is.
