Mechanism and disaster control new technology of strong ground pressure manifestation in ultra‐large mining face

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
In response to the problem of strong mining pressure manifestation along the goaf roadway in a thick coal seam mining area, this study uses a new type of combined blasting roof cutting technology to effectively control the manifestation and deformation of mining pressure along the goaf roadway.

State-of-the-art of standing supports for gob-side entry retaining technology in China [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, 2019
Gob-side entry retaining technology (GERT) is a popular layout of the roadway in many modern coal mines due to its outstanding advantages in high production yield ratio and enabling the 'Y' shape ventilation configuration. During the past two decades, various standing supports, as the critical component of GERT, have been proposed and implemented ...

Anchoring MoS2 Petal‐Like Nanosheets on Coal‐Based Carbon Nanofibers by Surface Bonding Enable Li+/Na+ Batteries to Achieve Fast‐Charging Capabilities

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The unique structure connected by CS and COS interfacial bonds accelerates the reaction kinetics of lithium/sodium‐ion storage, while the addition of coal led to an increase in the mechanical strength of the carbon nanofibers, which improved the conductivity and stability of the materials.

A study of the mechanical structure of the direct roof during the whole process of non-pillar gob-side entry retaining by roof cutting

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2020
The non-pillar entry (roadway) retained by roof cutting serves the two adjacent working faces. As compared with the conventional mining roadways, the roadway retained by roof cutting has a longer life cycle and receives more complicated influence from ...

From a Probabilistic PBEE Framework to Risk‐Targeted Structural Design With Cascading Hazards: Engineering Application for Seismic–Radiological Safety

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Earthquake‐induced damage of structures can trigger cascading hazards, linking structural performance to nonstructural consequences. In current engineering practice, these two aspects are typically addressed separately, limiting the ability to account for such coupled effects in design.

Optimization study on filling material beside gob-side entry retaining

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2021
In order to make gob-side filling body of gob-side entry retaining adapt to the roof movement, the properties of concrete material is modified by adding polymer and steel fiber to achieve the purpose of “yield-support”. The test of modified concrete was carried out to test the uniaxial compressive strength under different ratios, and the best ratio of ...

Mechanisms of Roadway Instability and Coupled Control Technology for Working Face Passing Through Fault Zones

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study mainly explores the instability characteristics of roadways near faults in the working face. Taking the 51104 transportation roadway of the 51104 working face in Shengxin Coal Mine as the main research object, through theoretical analysis, borehole inspection, numerical simulation and on‐site mine pressure observation, the instability ...

Mechanical behavior of the lateral gangue-retaining structure and roof cutting regulation in fully gob-side entry driving in a steep coal seam

open access: yesGeomechanics and Geophysics for Geo-Energy and Geo-Resources
Fully gob-side entry driving refers to the excavation of a roadway along the edge of the gob after the completion of mining in the adjacent panel. Since no coal pillar remains between the full gob-side entry side and the gob, the reliability of the ...
