Estimation of Atmospheric PM10 Concentration in China Using an Interpretable Deep Learning Model and Top‐of‐the‐Atmosphere Reflectance Data From China’s New Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellite, FY‐4A

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 127, Issue 9, 16 May 2022., 2022
Abstract The rapid urbanization in China and the long‐range transport dust (LRTD) from arid and semi‐arid areas has resulted in an increase of PM10 concentration. In this study, an interpretable deep learning model [deep forest (DF)] with FY‐4A top‐of‐the‐atmosphere reflectance (TOAR) data were used to obtain the hourly PM10 in China.

Fluorescence Line Height Extraction Algorithm for the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Chlorophyll fluorescence is an important indicator of the physiological state of phytoplankton in water bodies. The new generation of ocean color satellite remote sensors usually sets fluorescence bands to detect the phytoplankton fluorescence line ...

COMPARISON OF GEOMETRIC CORRECTION SCHEMES FOR GEOSTATIONARY OCEAN COLOR IMAGER SLOTS WITHOUT GCPS [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2018
Currently, the geometric correction process of GOCI (Geostationary Ocean Color Imager) image is performed by matching slot images against shorelines and utilizing the matching results as GCPs (Ground Control Point).

Improving air quality forecasting with the assimilation of GOCI aerosol optical depth (AOD) retrievals during the KORUS-AQ period [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2020
The Korean Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) satellite has monitored the East Asian region in high temporal (e.g., hourly) and spatial resolution (e.g., 6 km) every day for the last decade, providing unprecedented information on air ...

An Improved Cloud Masking Method for GOCI Data over Turbid Coastal Waters [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Clouds severely hinder the radiative transmission of visible light; thus, correctly masking cloudy and non-cloudy pixels is a preliminary step in processing ocean color remote sensing data. However, cloud masking over turbid waters is prone to misjudgment, leading to loss of non-cloudy pixel data. This research proposes an improved cloud masking method

Evaluation of GOCI Remote Sensing Reflectance Spectral Quality Based on a Quality Assurance Score System in the Bohai Sea

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
In the application of ocean color remote sensing, remote sensing reflectance spectral (Rrs(λ)) is the most important and basic parameter for the development of bio-optical algorithms.

Czy istnieli Kurpie-Gocie?

open access: yesZeszyty Naukowe OTN, 2021
W dotychczasowej literaturze określenia „Kurpie” używano zazwyczaj w od-niesieniu do mieszkańców Puszczy Zielonej (Zagajnicy), zaś „Gociami” część piszących zwykła – i to jeszcze całkiem niedawno – nazywać mieszkańców Pusz-czy Białej. Zwłaszcza jednak ten drugi termin bywał kontestowany i nie zyskał powszechnej akceptacji miejscowej ludności.

„Goci” i „Gepidowie” Słowiańszczyzny

open access: yes, 2023
The text aims at re-conceptualization of the history of the Western Slavdom in order to achieve a more nuanced view of the ethno- and socio-political structures existing there in the 9th–10th centuries AD. An attempt was made to create a consonant vision based upon written records and material evidence, in which both territorial variety and ...

Comparison of NDVIs from GOCI and MODIS Data towards Improved Assessment of Crop Temporal Dynamics in the Case of Paddy Rice

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
The monitoring of crop development can benefit from the increased frequency of observation provided by modern geostationary satellites. This paper describes a four-year testing period from 2010 to 2014, during which satellite images from the world's ...

Divergence Observation in a Mesoscale Eddy during Chla Bloom Revealed in Submesoscale Satellite Currents

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Oceanic mesoscale eddies continuously regulate the horizontal and vertical transport of mass, heat, salt, carbon, and nutrients throughout the ocean system owing to their ubiquity, three-dimensionality, and long-term persistence. Although satellites have
