Confirmation of the assignment of vibrations of goethite: An ATR and IES study of goethite structure [PDF]
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM/EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to characterize the morphology of synthetic goethite. The behavior of the hydroxyl/water molecular units of goethite and its thermally treated products were characterized using Fourier transform-infrared emission ...

Effects of Flavin-Goethite Interaction on Goethite Reduction by Shewanella decolorationis S12 [PDF]
Flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and riboflavin are structurally similar flavins, except for the presence of a phosphate group on the FMN molecule. They are used by a variety of electroactive bacteria as extracellular electron shuttles in microbial Fe reduction and inevitably interact with Fe (hydr)oxides in the extracellular environment.

Phosphate adsorption on goethite and Al-rich goethite
Abstract The adsorption of phosphate complexes on pure and Al-rich goethite surfaces was studied by using density functional theory (DFT) and a periodic slab model. Several phosphate complexes are evaluated on these surfaces, which were not studied in other earlier theoretical works.

DESORPTION OF PHOSPHATE FROM GOETHITE [PDF]
Summary The reversibility of the adsorption of phosphate on goethite was measured by diluting suspensions of goethite on which phosphate was adsorbed with large volumes of phosphate‐free solution at the same ionic strength. The effect on the reversibility of various adsorption and desorption conditions was studied, particularly pH ...

Comparative dissolution of natural goethite samples in HCl and HNO3
The dissolution of goethite samples in mineral acids from to extreme parts of Nigeria (Osogbo and Kaduna) have been investigated. The rate of dissolution was found to be slightly faster in HCl than HNO3.
