Origin of Ultrapotassic, Ultracalcic, Ultrabasic SiO2‐Undersaturated Magmas: The Case Study of the Pleistocene Cupaello Kamafugite Monogenetic Volcano, Central Italy

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract The Pleistocene (∼0.6 Ma) Cupaello monogenetic volcano, cropping out in central Italy, belongs to the Intra Apennine Province (IAP). It is represented by a single lava flow with kamafugitic composition, associated with a volumetrically limited pyroclastic deposit and a phosphate‐rich layer close to the small vent.

New U-Pb SHRIMP-II zircon intrusion ages of the Cana Brava and Barro Alto layered complexes, central Brazil: constraints on the genesis and evolution of the Tonian Goias Stratiform Complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Cana Brava, Niquelândia and Barro Alto complexes (Goiás, central Brazil) are three of the largest mafic-ultramafic layered complexes in the world and their origin has been a matter of debate for several decades.

A pre-Sturtian depositional age of the lower Paraguay Belt, Western Brazil, and its relationship to western Gondwana magmatism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The Neoproterozoic Paraguay Belt in mid-eastern Mato Grosso, western Brazil, records the geological evolution of the margins of western Gondwana. The lack of absolute geochronology for the Paraguay Belt has hampered both regional and global stratigraphic

Isotopic constraints on contamination processes in the Tonian Goiás Stratiform Complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Tonian Goiás Stratiform Complex (TGSC, Goiás, central Brazil), is one of the largest mafic-ultramafic layered complexes in the world, emplaced during the geotectonic events that led to the Gondwana accretion.

Tectonic evolution of the Juvenile Tonian Serra da Prata magmatic arc in the Ribeira belt, SE Brazil: Implications for early west Gondwana amalgamation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The evolution of the Ribeira belt resulted from the progressive amalgamation of several terranes against the eastern margin of the São Francisco Craton between ca. 620 and 580 Ma. This work brings new field, U-Pb geochronology, geochemistry and isotopic (

Neoproterozoic anatexis of 2.9 Ga old granitoids in the Goiás-Crixás archean block, Central Brazil: evidence from new SHRIMP U-Pb data and Sm-Nd isotopes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The first SHRIMP U-Pb ages for granitoid rocks from the southern part of the Goiás-Crixás Archean Block (Caiçara and Uvá complexes) are presented and discussed in combination with Sm-Nd isotopic data in order to elucidate the main aspects of the ...

High spatial resolution analysis of Pb and U isotopes for geochronology by laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009

open access: yes, 2017
In the region of Indiara, Goiás, there is an extensive belt of gneisses related to the Goiás Magmatic Arc, near the contact with the supracrustal rocks of the Anicuns-Itaberaí Metavolcanosedimentary Sequence.
