FAKTOR DETERMINAN KEJADIAN GONDOK DI DAERAH PANTAI JAWA TIMUR
The Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) is one of the serious nutritional issues in Indonesia. The survey of IDD in Province of East Java, found that Total Goiter Rate (TGR) in 2003 was higher than 1998 (24.8% and 16.3%) respectively). Iodine deficiency is

Endemic Infrared Divergences in QED3 at Finite Temperature [PDF]
We demonstrate that massless QED in three dimensions contains endemic infrared divergences. It is argued that these divergences do not affect observables; furthermore, it is possible to choose a gauge that renders the theory finite.

Effectiveness of protected areas in the Caucasus Mountains in preventing rangeland degradation
Abstract As land use intensifies globally, it increasingly exerts pressure on protected areas. Despite open, nonforested landscapes comprising up to 40% of protected areas globally, assessments have predominately focused on forests, overlooking the major pressures on rangelands from livestock overgrazing and land conversion.

Projected reduction in healthcare costs in Belgium after optimization of iodine intake : impact on costs related to thyroid nodular disease [PDF]
Background: Several surveys in the last 50 years have repeatedly indicated that Belgium is affected by mild iodine deficiency. Within the framework of the national food and health plan in Belgium, a selective, progressive, and monitored strategy was ...

Rescue of endemic states in interconnected networks with adaptive coupling [PDF]
We study the Susceptible-Infected-Susceptible model of epidemic spreading on two layers of networks interconnected by adaptive links, which are rewired at random to avoid contacts between infected and susceptible nodes at the interlayer. We find that the rewiring reduces the effective connectivity for the transmission of the disease between layers, and

Feeding Ecology of the Critically Endangered Gobio insuyanus (Gobionidae)
This study investigates the diet of the critically endangered Gobio insuyanus in the Insuyu spring–stream system, revealing omnivorous feeding habits with a preference for detritus, Gammarids, and Diptera larvae. Ontogenetic dietary shifts were observed, with mature individuals specializing in larger prey, while habitat and seasonal variations ...
