A Molecular Boroauride: A Donor-Acceptor Complex of Anionic Gold [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Gold is unique among the transition metals in that it is stable as an isolated anion (auride). Despite this fact, the coordination chemistry of anionic gold is virtually nonexistent, and this unique oxidation state is not readily exploited in ...

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

A Sensitive Resonance Rayleigh Scattering Method for Na+ Based on Graphene Oxide Nanoribbon Catalysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2018
The gold nanoparticle reaction of HAuCl4-H2O2 was very slow under 60°C, and the as-prepared graphene oxide nanoribbons (GONRs) exhibited strong catalysis of the reaction to form gold nanoparticles (AuNP) that appeared a resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS)

Merging Gold/Copper Catalysis and Copper/Photoredox Catalysis: An Approach to Alkyl Oxazoles from NPropargylamides

open access: yes, 2021
Here, we report a mild and highly efficient approach to alkyl oxazoles through merging gold/copper catalysis and copper/photoredox catalysis. Various alkyl oxazoles are synthesized from N-propargylamides with alkyl halides in good to excellent yields ...

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

Gold Nanoparticles as the Catalyst of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Synthesis

open access: yes, 2014
Gold nanoparticles have been proven to act as efficient catalysts for chemical reactions, such as oxidation and hydrogen production. In this review we focus on a different aspect of the catalysis of gold nanoparticles; single-walled carbon nanotube ...
