Fluid inclusion and H–O–S isotope constraints on the genesis of the Ashawayi gold deposit, Southern Tianshan, Xinjiang, NW China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Ashawayi gold deposit is situated in the eastern part of the Southern Tianshan Sb–Hg–Au metallogenic belt, a significant source of gold in China. This deposit exhibits typical disseminated mineralization controlled by faults or fractures.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Fraud and Financial Markets: The 1997 Collapse of the Junior Mining Stocks [PDF]

open access: yes
The Vancouver Composite Index fell by over 25% in less than six weeks during spring 1997 as the junior mining sector collapsed. We argue that this market collapse was triggered by the failure of Bre-X Minerals when that company’s Indonesian claims ...

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Geochemical and mineralogical differences between supergene and hypogene gold mineralization and influence on gold recovery: A case study of the Faina gold deposit, Pitangui greenstone belt, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of the Geological Survey of Brazil
The Faina gold deposit, located in the Pitangui Greenstone Belt, NW of the Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Brazil, has produced gold from the oxidized portion of the deposit between June 2010 and June 2013. However, the deeper hypogene (sulfide-rich) section of
