Leaching of gold from off-grade products
Journal of Mining Science, 2004Kinetics of sulfide decomposition and gold dissolution during electrochemical extraction is described. The results are presented for the experiments on electrochemical extraction of gold from sulfide ores of the Kazakhstan deposits using sodium salt at the “ABS” Concern.

Gold Leaching in an Alkaline Thiourea Solution
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1999Gold leaching by thiourea has been investigated in an alkaline solution. In the presence of both Na 2 SO 3 and Na 2 S 2 O 8 , the chemical dissolution of gold can be accomplished in the alkaline thiourea solution. It was found that used as a buffer, SO 2- 3 can prevent thiourea from further decomposing into some insoluble species in contact with the

Iodide—thiocyanate leaching system for gold
1994The leaching of gold by thiocyanate solutions is performed at pHs between 1 and 2, which allows the use of iron(III) as an oxidizing agent. The mechanism of dissolution of gold by iron(III)-thiocyanate solutions is directly linked with the autoreduction process, in which FeIII is spontaneously reduced to FeII while oxidizing SCN- This oxidation ...

Developments in Gold Leaching: A Literature Survey
Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 1990The gold industry has seen intense activity in the areas of exploration and metallurgy'in recent years. Many developments have taken piace through which ore bodies that were once considered uneconomical to exploit are becoming economical grade. Even the traditional cyanidation process has been modified during the course of time to make it more ...

1991
A dilute cyanide solution is an efficient solvent of gold. However, as in any other leaching process, the solvent has to come in contact with the solid gold particle. Hence, extensive crushing and meticulous two-stage, closed-circuit grinding are needed to liberate the gold particles in the ore.

Mercury Removal From Gold Cyanide Leach Solution
Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, 1984The Bureau of Mines investigated selective extraction of Au and Ag from a low-grade Au ore containing Hg. Gold and silver were extracted from the ore in cyanide slurries, and Hg extraction was suppressed with sodium or calcium sulfide. Maximum Au extraction and minimum Hg extraction were obtained using solutions containing 17 kg NaCN/t of solution (0 ...

Alternative Leaching Reagents for Gold
1991Sodium cyanide has been the preponderant leaching reagent for gold due to its excellent extractions from a great variety of ores and its low cost. Although cyanide is poisonous, it has safe industrial and environmental records at the high pH range required in cyanide leaching. In addition, the low concentrations of cyanide used in gold milling and heap

Hydrological Evaluation of Gold Leach Pad Rinsing
Mine Water and the Environment, 2012Leach pad closure is a site and material specific consideration. This paper presents a summary of analytical and field studies conducted to determine the requirements for rinsing heap leach residue in conjunction with reclamation activities. An analytical model, based on simple dilution, was proposed for projecting changes in cyanide concentration ...

Gold Extraction from kaymaz gold ore by thiourea leaching
2000Abstract For over one hundred years, gold has traditionally been extracted from ores by cyanide leaching. In recent years, due to pressure by environmentalists and to certain disadvantages of the cyanidation process, investigations were directed towards alternative gold lixiviants.

Prospects for underground leaching in gold mines
Journal of Mining Science, 2016The authors describe experiments on pretreatment of ore by injection of explosive gases before underground leaching of gold in mine conditions. It is shown that injection of explosive gases into opening micro-fractures enhances efficiency of underground leaching owing to microstructural transformation of ore containing dispersed gold.
