Mining ‘Waste’ [Elektronisk resurs] : Repurposing Residues in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining

open access: yes, 2021
Gold mining, like all other forms of mining, is strongly associated with the production of a wide range of residues, whether this concerns (toxic) waste materials or the environments transformed in pursuit of gold.

Digital Transformation on Green Operational Performance: Evidence From the E‐Waste Firm's Perspective

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Digital transformation (DT) is increasingly recognised as essential for improving environmental performance in process‐intensive and hazardous sectors; however, the mechanisms by which digitalisation translates into green operational performance (GOP) and environmental accountability remain insufficiently investigated, particularly in ...

Operations Research‐Based Formalisation and Design of Sustainable Reverse Logistics for E‐Waste Supply Chains

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates how a profitable, lean, and environmentally responsible e‐waste reverse logistics system can be designed using integrated Operations Research (OR) techniques. Addressing the growing urgency of responsible consumption (UN SDG 12) and the projected rise of the e‐waste sector to USD 137.60 billion by 2029, the research ...

Trust and Transformation: Institutional Complexity in Carbon Market Adoption in Emerging Economies' Land‐Based Private Sectors

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite global commitments under the Paris Agreement, empirical evidence on the involvement of the land‐based private sector of emerging economies in carbon trading remains limited. The study analyses how behavioural factors and institutional complexities influence the involvement of the land‐based private sector in carbon trading in Indonesia.

Artificial Intelligence–Driven and Digital Practices for Circular Business and Finance: Insights for Advancing Hubs for Circularity

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The emerging concept of Hubs for Circularity (H4Cs) presents an opportunity to create collaborative, self‐sustaining regional industrial ecosystems that drive circular economy transitions at scale. However, the operationalisation of H4Cs faces financial, organisational and data‐driven challenges.

Creep model of bond-degradation in deep granite based on variable radius particle clump

open access: yesScientific Reports
The creep failure of rocks is related to its microstructure, external loading and time. A nonlinear yield model was introduced to describe the variation in the cohesion and friction angle with plastic strain and intergranular stress.
