Spherical gold nanoparticles and gold nanorods for the determination of gentamicin
Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2017Gentamicin is an antibiotic indicated to treat mastitis in dairy cattle and for the treatment of bacterial resistance in the context of hospital infections. The effect caused by gentamicin on the optical properties of gold nanoparticles aqueous dispersions were used to develop quantitative methods to determine this antibiotic.

Watching Single Gold Nanorods Grow
Small, 2012The consecutive evolution process of single gold nanorods is monitored using atomic force microscopy (AFM). The single-crystal gold nanorods investigated are grown directly on surfaces to which gold seed particles are covalently linked. The growth kinetics for single nanorods is derived from the 3D information recorded by AFM. A better understanding of

Study on selective oxidations of gold nanorod and mesoporous silica-coated gold nanorod
Journal of Materials Science, 2019The structural control-based manipulation of the anisotropic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) property of gold nanorod (AuNR) is significant and has wide application value in many fields. In this work, the quantitative studies of the ends-selective oxidations of AuNR and silica-coated AuNR using chloroauric acid as a oxidant were carried out.

Multiplex Biosensor Using Gold Nanorods
Analytical Chemistry, 2006Gold nanorods (GNRs) with different aspect ratios were fabricated through seed-mediated growth and surface activation by alkanethiols for the attachment of antibodies to yield gold nanorod molecular probes (GNrMPs). Multiplex sensing was demonstrated by the distinct response of the plasmon spectra of the GNrMPs to binding events of three targets (goat ...

Stability of Crystal Facets in Gold Nanorods
Nano Letters, 2015Metal nanocrystals can be grown in a variety of shapes through the modification of surface facet energies via surfactants. However, the surface facets are only a few atoms wide, making it extremely challenging to measure their geometries and energies.

pH-Triggered Assembly of Gold Nanorods
Langmuir, 2005The self-assembly of surfactant-protected gold nanorods (aspect ratio 3.3 +/- 0.3, 20.6 +/- 5.5 nm width, and 67.5 +/- 9.0 nm length) into ordered structures using adipic acid is presented. As made, the gold nanorods are coated with cationic surfactant, which gives them a net positive charge in aqueous solution. The pH-dependent assembly is directed by

Spectroscopic Photoacoustic Imaging of Gold Nanorods
2017Photoacoustic imaging is a rapidly developing tool capable of achieving high-resolution images with optical contrast at imaging depths up to a few centimeters. When combined with targeted nanoparticle contrast agents, sensitive detection of molecular signatures is possible.
