Anatomical Investigation Reveals a Second Olfactory System in Locusts

We traced chemosensory pathways from locust palps through the central nervous system. Olfactory input from basiconic sensilla targets the glomerular lobe and accessory calyx, whereas gustatory input is restricted to gnathal circuits. Thus, the palp and antennal olfactory pathways form parallel but separate systems.

Brief information about the history of the discovery of the large Pioner gold deposit in the Amur province is given. The main features of the geological structure of the deposit, located at the contact of the multiphase granitoid intrusion of the Early Cretaceous age and terrigenous rocks of the Middle-Late Jurassic, are shown.
