Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

An Artificial Antibody‐Based Toolbox Accelerates Validation of Hidden Microproteins Encoded by the Dark Genome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microproteins are hidden treasures encoded by the “dark proteome” but remain largely underexplored due to the lack of highly efficient tools. We developed a molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs)‐based toolbox (CLAIMID) to achieve accelerated and ultrasensitive microproteins validation at multiple biological scales (single living cells, cell populations,

The Eagle and the Serpent on the Screen, the State as Spectacle in Mexican Cinema [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Recent studies of the history of Mexican cinema continue to speak of the complex relations between the state and the film industry, and the most frequently analyzed aspects tend to be the same: the reach and forms of censorship, as well as the financial ...

De Novo Multi‐Mechanism Antimicrobial Peptide Design via Multimodal Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current AI‐driven peptide discovery often overlooks complex structural data. This study presents M3‐CAD, a generative pipeline that leverages 3D voxel coloring and a massive database of over 12 000 peptides to capture nuanced physicochemical contexts.

Nesting Habitat Selection and Breeding Distribution of Two Sympatric Insular Eagle Populations: The Golden Eagle and the Bonelli’s Eagle on the Island of Crete, Greece

open access: yesПернатые хищники и их охрана, 2018
In the current study we present data collected during the last two decades on the island of Crete (Greece) regarding the nesting habitat of two sympatric species namely the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) and the Bonelli’s Eagle (Aquila fasciata).

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

Radical‐Mediated, Substrate‐Independent Fabrication of Hybrid Solid–Hydrogel Materials With Tunable Crosslinking: An Initiator‐ and Crosslinker‐Free Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a substrate‐independent, reagent‐free plasma strategy that forms radical‐rich interlayers for covalent hydrogel attachment without initiators or crosslinkers. The long‐lived radicals drive in situ gelation, creating robust, cytocompatible hybrid solid–hydrogel constructs across diverse substrates.
