Asynchronous food-web pathways could buffer the response of Serengeti predators to El Niño southern oscillation [PDF]
Understanding how entire ecosystems maintain stability in the face of climatic and human disturbance is one of the most fundamental challenges in ecology.

Ecomorphology of radii in Canidae: Application to fragmentary fossils from Plio-Pleistocene hominin assemblages [PDF]
Fragmentary long bone material from fossil Carnivora is rarely considered to support palaeoenvironmental reconstructions. Here, we use morphometry of the radius in extant carnivorans of the dog family (Canidae) to reconstruct the palaeobiology of extinct

Implementations of Golden Jackal Algorithm for Solving CCFELD Problems
This study offers the Golden Jackal Optimization (GJO) algorithm, an effective and trustworthy swarm optimization for tackling economic load dispatch (ELD) issues using cubic fuel cost functions. The presence of equal and unequal constraints of the non-smooth cost functions of a practical ELD has caused difficulties in finding an overall optimal result.

MULTI-OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION OF HYDRODYNAMIC BEARING BASED ON ADAPTIVE GOLDEN JACKAL ALGORITHM (MT)
In order to improve the load-carrying capacity of the hydrodynamic bearing, and reduce the calorific value and friction coefficient at the same time, a multi-objective optimization model of the hydrodynamic bearing was established.

Whole-genome sequence analysis shows that two endemic species of North American wolf are admixtures of the coyote and gray wolf. [PDF]
Protection of populations comprising admixed genomes is a challenge under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), which is regarded as the most powerful species protection legislation ever passed in the United States but lacks specific provisions for hybrids ...

Understanding the dietary patterns of apex predator like the common leopard Panthera pardus is essential for evaluating their ecological role, particularly in landscapes where human–wildlife conflict is prevalent. In this context, this study investigates the seasonal diet composition of the common leopard in and around the Bani Wildlife Sanctuary, a ...

The golden jackal (Canis aureus L., 1758) as a new species in the fauna of Ukraine [PDF]
The golden jackal has appeared in Ukraine in recent years being a new species for our fauna. Due to the fact that its distribution goes very rapidly we decided to study characteristics of the jackal ecology in the period of expansion and characteristics ...

Are human‐altered landscapes reshaping carnivore niche spaces in the Trans‐Himalaya?
Understanding carnivore interactions under growing human pressures is crucial for conservation. We examined spatial and temporal niche structuring among snow leopards Panthera uncia, Himalayan wolves Canis lupus chanco, and red foxes Vulpes vulpes; while also incorporating free‐ranging dogs Canis lupus familiaris as a human‐subsidized mesopredator ...
