Dental esthetics and the golden proportion
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1978A system of esthetic predictions is described that has been used since antiquity. The naturalness of the system is emphasized by showing examples from nature and how artists and designers use it. The application of this system to dental esthetics is facilitated by the description and inclusion of a dental grid for the anterior esthetic segment.

Golden proportions for the generalized Tribonacci numbers
International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, 2009It is known that the ratios of consecutive terms of Fibonacci and Tribonacci sequences converge to the fixed ratio. In this article, we consider the generalized form of Tribonacci numbers and derive the 'golden proportion' for the whole family of this generalized sequence.

Fuzzy logic explains the golden proportion
International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 1997It is known that aesthetically pleasing works of art, music, etc. contain a ratio Φ = (√5 - 1)/2 known as the golden proportion. There have been many attempts to understand why this ratio is pleasing; however, there is no convincing and universally accepted explanation. In this article, we provide an explanation based on fuzzy logic.

Putative golden proportions as predictors of facial esthetics in adolescents
American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 2008In orthodontics, facial esthetics is assumed to be related to golden proportions apparent in the ideal human face. The aim of the study was to analyze the putative relationship between facial esthetics and golden proportions in white adolescents.Seventy-six adult laypeople evaluated sets of photographs of 64 adolescents on a visual analog scale (VAS ...
