Golden ratios, Lucas Sequences and the Quadratic Family
It is conjectured that there is a converging sequence of some generalized Fibonacci ratios, given the difference between consecutive ratios, such as the Golden Ratio, $\varphi^1$, and the next golden ratio $\varphi^2$.

Golden ratio nets and sequences
In this paper we introduce and study nets and sequences constructed in an irrational base, focusing on the case of a base given by the golden ratio $ϕ$. We provide a complete framework to study equidistribution properties of nets in base $ϕ$, which among other things requires the introduction of a new concept of prime elementary intervals which differ ...

New “golden” ratios for facial beauty
In four experiments, we tested the existence of an ideal facial feature arrangement that could optimize the attractiveness of any face given its facial features. Participants made paired comparisons of attractiveness between faces with identical facial features but different eye-mouth distances and different interocular distances.

Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...

Cabinet of Curiosities: The Interesting Geometry of the Angle β = arccos ((3ϕ − 1)/4)
In this paper, we present the construction of several aggregates of tetrahedra. Each construction is obtained by performing rotations on an initial set of tetrahedra that either (1) contains gaps between adjacent tetrahedra, or (2) exhibits an aperiodic ...

Golden ratio algorithms for variational inequalities [PDF]
The paper presents a fully explicit algorithm for monotone variational inequalities. The method uses variable stepsizes that are computed using two previous iterates as an approximation of the local Lipschitz constant without running a linesearch. Thus, each iteration of the method requires only one evaluation of a monotone operator $F$ and a proximal ...

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Phase‐changing liquids enable untethered pneumatic actuation in soft robotics but suffer from volatility and storage challenges. This work reports a simple method to encapsulate Novec 7000 within micron‐thin alginate shells via in situ injection and ionic crosslinking.
