Structural Transition of Gold Nanoclusters: From the Golden Cage to the Golden Pyramid

ACS Nano, 2009
How nanoclusters transform from one structural type to another as a function of size is a critical issue in cluster science. Here we report a study of the structural transition from the golden cage Au(16)(-) to the pyramidal Au(20)(-). We obtained distinct experimental evidence that the cage-to-pyramid crossover occurs at Au(18)(-), for which the cage ...

The Golden Section and Structure of Self-Concepts

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1977
It was hypothesized that, when subjects form impressions of a person whom they have just met for the first time, the mean proportion of perceived differences between self and other will be approximately 0.368. Undergraduates, 15 women and 15 men, were asked to categorize a new acquaintance, following a brief conversation with him, on 22 bipolar ...

Golden Section in the Structure of Metals

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 2005
Main aspects of a new division of crystallography based on the concept of polytopes (four-dimensional polyhedrons) are considered. The possibilities of this concept for describing composite crystal structures of intermetallic compounds and the atomic mechanism of polymorphic transformations are discussed.

The Structure of the Harderian Gland of the Golden Hamster

1992
Hamsters are a group of cricetid rodents numbering some 23 species and with a widespread distribution in eastern Europe and Asia. The golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus Waterhouse) is a common laboratory species, although its distribution in the wild is difficult to assess.

Induced structures on Golden Riemannian manifolds

Beiträge zur Algebra und Geometrie / Contributions to Algebra and Geometry, 2018
Golden Riemannian manifolds have been introduced and studied by Crasmareanu and Hretecanu. In this paper, the author defines the notion of Golden Riemannian manifolds of type \((r,s)\). Further, with the help of this notion he constructs some compatible well-known structures on Riemannian manifolds and justifys his claim with concrete examples.

Golden Ratio in the Crack Pattern of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2013
Among all the proportions, the golden ratio has been taken into consideration for its geometrical and morphological properties, which can be found in a huge number of natural patterns, and therefore has been always considered as a model of beauty. Nevertheless, as discussed for the first time in the present paper, the cracking phenomenon of quasi ...

On 4 dimensional Golden Walker structures

2016
In this paper, we show a method of pure metrics construction on a semi-Riemannian 4-manifold of neutral signature with respect to Golden structures. As an illustration, by applying the method, we exhibit explicitly pure metrics on Walker 4-manifolds. Moreover, we present some examples for 4-dimensional Golden-Walker structures.
