Degradation of DDT by goldfish
Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1971Goldfish were fed DDT for three weeks, then exposed to phenobarbital solution for one week to study the possibility of microsomal enzyme induction and therefore possibly enhanced insecticide excretion. Analysis of DDT, DDE and DDD were made at intervals up to six weeks. Forty percent of the DDT fed was incorporated during the feeding.

Puromycin and Retention in the Goldfish
Science, 1967A first experiment compared the behavior of goldfish injected with puromycin immediately after each of a weekly series of brief discriminative training sessions in the shuttlebox to that of appropriate controls. Discrimination was not prevented, nor was escape from shock impaired, but probability of response to the conditioned stimuli, both positive ...

Perception of pitch by goldfish
Hearing Research, 2005Classical conditioning and stimulus generalization methods have revealed much about the sense of hearing in non-human animals, and are now used here to investigate how goldfish perceive a variety of complex sounds, including multi-harmonic complexes and rippled noise (RN).

Analytic listening by the goldfish
Hearing Research, 1992A stimulus generalization paradigm was used with classical respiratory conditioning to study analytic listening in the goldfish. Animals were first conditioned to suppress respiration upon the presentation of a long-duration complex sound comprised of two sinusoidal components, 166 and 724 Hz. Conditioned animals were then presented with a set of eight

Histogenesis of the goldfish retina
Journal of Comparative Neurology, 1980AbstractThe order of production of retinal cells was studied in embryos of the goldfish, Carassius auratus using 3Hâthymidine autoradiography. Cell division ceases first in the neuroepithelium at the fundus of the eye between embryonic stages 19 and 20 and gradually becomes restricted to the retinal margin by stage 24.

The Goldfish as a Retinex Animal
Science, 1985In an experiment designed to test color constancy in a situation comparable to that used in E. H. Land's experiments with human observers, goldfish were trained to approach a particular color within a richly colored but variable "Mondrian" background.

We introduce a JavaScript framework for developing "Real-World GUI" using an Android phone equipped with an NFC reader. Using the NFC reader and motion sensors at the same time, users can control various parameters by moving the phone on NFC tags, just like using a mouse for controling menus and scroll bars on a computer display.
