ABSTRACT Publicly broadcasting one's support for a social cause is often maligned as ‘slacktivism’. We investigate whether such symbolic action by advantaged group members in support of the cause of a disadvantaged group can motivate more concrete collective action when it solidifies a sense of belonging to a common cause.

Abstract Thick terms like “courageous,” “smart,” and “tasty” combine description and evaluation, contrasting with purely evaluative terms like “good” and “bad,” and descriptive terms like “Italian” and “green.” Thick terms intuitively constitute a special class of evaluative language; but we currently do not know whether the psycholinguistic effects of

Fern spore dispersal: A methodological review and experimental field study
Abstract Spore dispersal is one of the most important but perhaps the least investigated and understood processes in determining the geographical distribution of fern species. After a methodological review of the aerobiology of fern spores, we examined the impact of spore characteristics and meteorological factors on their airborne dispersal.

Centrifugation Theory Revisited: Understanding and Modeling the Centrifugation of 2D Nanosheets
Colloidal dispersions of nanomaterials are often size‐selected by centrifugation, for anisotropic particle shapes in trial and error. This paper describes the derivation of an equation of motion for 2D objects. The model is validated using different nanosheets produced from liquid phase exfoliation and can be used to predict the average nanosheet sizes

Increasing genetic representation globally to advance Alzheimer's disease solutions for all
Abstract Background The “Recruitment and Retention for Alzheimer's Disease Diversity Genetic Cohorts in the Alzheimer's Disease Sequencing Project” (READD‐ADSP) is building a resource aimed at increasing genetic ancestry representation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) studies to advance our ability to leverage all genetic variation in solving AD for ...

Heterogeneity in the Genetic Architecture of Alzheimer disease (AD) across Ancestry Groups
Abstract Background In AD genomics research there are known differences in AD prevalence across Non‐Hispanic White (NHW), African American (AA), Asian American (AsA) and Hispanic/Latino (HL) ancestry groups, and paradoxical differences in effect size of APOE (larger effects in groups with lower prevalence).

Abstract Background Blacks are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s disease (AD), with rates twice as high as Whites. Etiological factors of AD include behavioral (e.g., sleep) and biological (i.e., genetics) contributors. Both short and long sleep durations are associated with worsened cognitive/functional impairments among older adults.

Abstract INTRODUCTION Relationships between place‐based social determinants of health (SDoH) and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias biomarkers are emerging. METHODS Linear regressions examined associations of area deprivation index (ADI), social vulnerability index (SVI), and environmental justice index (EJI) with biomarkers among Healthy Brain ...

A simple, broadly applicable method is presented to disentangle junction and nanosheet contributions to charge transport in printed graphene networks using temperature‐dependent resistivity and nanosheet size variation. This approach quantifies both inter‐sheet and intra‐sheet resistance, revealing distinct semiconducting and hopping behaviors, and ...
