Comparison of intraocular pressure measured by iCare tonometers and Goldmann applanation tonometer

Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
To evaluate the relationship between the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and the iCare PRO and iCare IC200 tonometers in measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) in adult eyes with a diagnosis of glaucoma or glaucoma suspect. One hundred and one eyes from 101 participants diagnosed with glaucoma or glaucoma suspect were evaluated in this study. IOP was

Comparison of the Challenger Digital Applanation Tonometer and the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1986
We compared the Challenger electronic tonometer to the Goldmann applanation tonometer in 70 eyes without corneal abnormalities. There was a good overall correlation between the two machines. Correlations between interobserver readings were excellent, demonstrating that obtaining reproducible measurements is possible with either machine.

Measurement of Goldmann Applanation Tonometer Calibration Error

Ophthalmology, 2009
To determine the frequency and possible origins of calibration errors of the Goldmann applanation tonometer and to investigate intraobserver and interobserver agreement in the measurement of such calibration errors.Evaluation of diagnostic test or technology. One hundred thirty-two slit-lamp-mounted Haag-Streit Goldmann tonometers (Model AT 900 C/M ...

Frequency of Goldmann Applanation Tonometer Calibration Error Checks

Journal of Glaucoma, 2005
To investigate how quickly Goldmann applanation tonometers used in clinical practice develop calibration errors, and to determine the frequency of checks required to detect these errors.Prospective check of the calibration error of all Haag-Streit Goldmann applanation tonometers in the department at month zero, month one, and month four. The tonometers

Comparative Evaluation of Diaton and Goldmann Applanation Tonometers

Ophthalmologica, 2012
Aim: To evaluate the agreement between intra-ocular pressure (IOP) measurements with the Diaton and the Goldmann applanation tonometers (GAT). Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study, a total of 196 eyes of 196 participants (66 patients with glaucoma, 130 healthy ...

Comparison of ICare Tonometer with Goldmann Applanation Tonometer in Glaucoma Patients

Journal of Glaucoma, 2006
To compare the intraocular pressure (IOP) readings taken with the new ICare tonometer and with the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and to evaluate the influence of central corneal thickness (CCT) on the IOP measurements. One eye of 178 consecutive patients with primary open-angle glaucoma underwent ultrasonic CCT measurement, followed by IOP ...

Comparison of ocular response analyzer, dynamic contour tonometer and Goldmann applanation tonometer

International Ophthalmology, 2010
The aim of this study was to compare the intra-ocular pressure (IOP) obtained by ocular response analyzer (ORA), dynamic contour tonometer (DCT) and Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT). In 102 patients (47 with primary open-angle glaucoma and 55 healthy controls) IOP was measured with GAT, ORA and DCT in one eye. The agreement between GAT, DCT and ORA

Goldmann Applanation Tonometry Using Sterile Disposable Silicone Tonometer Shields

Ophthalmology, 1996
Placement of a sterile single-use cover over the tonometer tip may be a convenient and safe alternative method to repeated chemical disinfection. This study was undertaken to evaluate the accuracy and performance of Goldmann applanation tonometry using a sterile disposable silicone tonometer shield over the biprism tip.The same investigator measured ...

Comparison of Rebound Tonometer and Goldmann Handheld Applanation Tonometer in Congenital Glaucoma

Journal of Glaucoma, 2009
To compare intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements obtained using the rebound tonometer (RBT) and the handheld Goldmann applanation tonometer (Perkins) in children with congenital glaucoma.Using both tonometers, the IOP was prospectively determined in 68 eyes of 68 patients with congenital glaucoma aged 3 to 13 years. Corneal curvature, central corneal

Comparison of the Tono-Pen to the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1988
Oculab Tono-Pen tonometry was compared with Goldmann applanation tonometry in 142 eyes of 71 patients without corneal problems. Overall we found 63% of the Tono-Pen readings to be within +/- 2 mm Hg of the Goldmann applanation tonometry readings and 77% to be within +/- 3 mm Hg, while 4% were within at least +/- 7 mm Hg difference.
