En Golfo de Nicoya, Costa Rica, se estudió la distribución vertical de epifauna y algas de las zonas rocosas entre mareas, durante las mareas bajas de abril a julio del 2004. Dos sitios se ubicaron en la boca del Golfo: Montezuma y Punta Agujas uno en la región media: Caldera y dos en la región interna: Cocorocas e Isla Yuca. Se muestreó nueve estratos
