On The Role Of The Interface Charge In Non-Ideal Metal-Semiconductor Contacts

open access: yes, 2004
The bias dependent interface charge is considered as the origin of the observed non-ideality in current-voltage and capacitance-voltage characteristics.

From one- to two-dimensional solitons in the Ginzburg-Landau model of lasers with frequency selective feedback [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We use the cubic complex Ginzburg-Landau equation coupled to a dissipative linear equation as a model of lasers with an external frequency-selective feedback. It is known that the feedback can stabilize the one-dimensional (1D) self-localized mode.

Remote Conformational Control of a Chloride‐Binding Site

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 1, January 2026.
Chloride‐binding foldamers have been developed that have stereogenic C‐ and N‐terminal groups separated by a helical α‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) body. Chloride affinity is sensitive to the sense and strength of screw‐sense induction by each N‐terminal residue.

Stabilization of solitons in PT models with supersymmetry by periodic management

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce a system based on dual-core nonlinear waveguides with the balanced gain and loss acting separately in the cores. The system features a "supersymmetry" when the gain and loss are equal to the inter-core coupling.

Phase-space structure of two-dimensional excitable localized structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this work we characterize in detail the bifurcation leading to an excitable regime mediated by localized structures in a dissipative nonlinear Kerr cavity with a homogeneous pump. Here we show how the route can be understood through a planar dynamical

Gems From the Caves: Genomic Insights Into the Biosynthetic Potential of Antimicrobial‐Producing Bacteria Associated With Tropical Cave‐Dwelling Sponges

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our study reveals that cave‐dwelling marine sponges host bacteria with antimicrobial activity against multidrug‐resistant strains. The bioactive Pseudomonadaceae strains exhibited biosynthetic clusters encoding both characterized and putative antimicrobial compounds and peptides. The findings highlight their potential for discovering novel biomolecules

Localized solutions of Lugiato-Lefever equations with focused pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Lugiato-Lefever (LL) equations in one and two dimensions (1D and 2D) accurately describe the dynamics of optical fields in pumped lossy cavities with the intrinsic Kerr nonlinearity.

Epidemiological Dynamics of a Visually Apparent Disease: Camera Trapping and Machine‐Learning Applied to Rumpwear in the Common Brushtail Possum

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, Volume 21, Issue 1, Page 116-128, January 2026.
Visually apparent diseases are valuable for investigating and monitoring the occurrence and prevalence of pathogens in wildlife populations through passive monitoring methods like camera trapping. Rumpwear is characterized by visible signs of hair breakage and damage on the lumbosacral region of common brushtail possums.
