Generalized Kumaraswamy Generalized Power Gompertz Distribution: Statistical Properties, Application, and Validation Using a Modified Chi-Squared Goodness of Fit Test

open access: yesApplied Mathematics, 2022
A new six-parameter continuous distribution called the Generalized Kumaraswamy Generalized Power Gompertz (GKGPG) distribution is proposed in this study, a graphical illustration of the probability density function and cumulative distribution function is

What Do Latest CMIP6 Global Climate Models Say About Future Arctic Sea Ice Coverage Changes?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Modelling of sea ice dynamics has significantly improved between CMIP5 and CMIP6, with nearly three times as many models capturing realistic annual variability in sea ice extent (SIE). What we previously thought was a non‐linear pattern of low SIE observations in 2007–2010 that would continue throughout time now appears to be non‐record‐setting lows in

Constraining properties of GRB magnetar central engines using the observed plateau luminosity and duration correlation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An intrinsic correlation has been identified between the luminosity and duration of plateaus in the X-ray afterglows of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs; Dainotti et al. 2008), suggesting a central engine origin.

A SkSP-R Plan under the Assumption of Gompertz Distribution

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In this study, we designed a time-truncated SkSP-R sampling plan when the lifetime of units follows a Gompertz distribution (GmzD). The GmzD is briefly discussed.

Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

A New Hybrid Algorithm Based on the Firefly Algorithm and Cuckoo Search to Estimate Survival Analysis of Truncated Inverse Gompertz Distribution

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Science
This paper introduces the Right Truncated Inverse Gompertz Distribution (RTIGD) with two parameters δ and ϑ with some of its properties as; (Survival-Function, Hazard-Function, cumulative distribution function, probability density function, ‎r-th ...

Using an inverse-logistic model to describe growth increments of blacklip abalone (Haliotis rubra) in Tasmania [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A new description of growth in blacklip abalone (Haliotis rubra) with the use of an inverse-logistic model is introduced. The inverse-logistic model avoids the disadvantageous assumptions of either rapid or slow growth for small and juvenile individuals ...

On Order Restricted Inference in Multi‐Step Stage Life Testing for a General Family of Distributions

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recently, k$$ k $$‐step stage life testing (SLT) has been proposed by Laumen and Cramer (2021) as a natural extension of progressive censoring with fixed censoring times (PC‐FCT) as well as of simple step‐stress accelerated life testing (SSALT).
