Molecular phylogeny of Palaearctic genera of Gomphocerinae grasshoppers (Orthoptera, Acrididae)

Systematic Entomology, 2005
Abstract.  Molecular phylogenetic methods were used to examine morphologically based hypotheses concerning the taxonomic structure and relationships of the grasshopper subfamily Gomphocerinae. Two mitochondrial gene (cytochrome b and cytochrome oxidase subunit I) sequences were determined for twenty‐five species

A new species of genus Aeropedellus (Acrididae: Gomphocerinae) from China

Zootaxa
The genus Aeropedellus (Hebard, 1935) was established in 1935 and is widely distributed across the Palearctic region, with 22 known species. A new species, Aeropedellus ganziensis Chen & Li sp. nov., has been collected in the Ganzi, Sichuan, China.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Gomphocerus tibetanus Uvarov, 1935 (Orthoptera: Acrididae: Gomphocerinae)

Gene, 2012
The complete nucleotide sequence of the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Gomphocerus tibetanus Uvarov, 1935 (Orthoptera: Acrididae: Gomphocerinae) was determined. It is 15,571 bp in length and contains 74.8% A+T. All Gomphocerus tibetanus protein-coding sequences start with a typical ATN codon.

Phylogenetic and phylogeographic analysis of Myrmeleotettix maculatus (Orthoptera: Acrididae: Gomphocerinae) species group in Anatolia

Zootaxa, 2021
Six Anatolian and one European populations of the Myrmeleotettix maculatus species group, which contains M. maculatus and M. ethicus species, have been studied by using molecular genetics methods with mitochondrial COI gene. Myrmeleotettix ethicus is an Anatolian endemic species with local distribution whereas M.

Pharmacological Activation of Stridulation in the Grasshopper Chorthippus albomarginatus (Orthoptera: Gomphocerinae)

Journal of Evolutionary Biochemistry and Physiology, 2001
Calling and courtship stridulatory behavior of Chorthippus albomarginatus was induced by injections of acetylcholine agonists into the protocerebrum. Pharmacologically induced stridulation, in many parameters, was quite similar to the natural behavior.

Sound production inParapellopedon instabilis(Rehn, 1906) (Orthoptera: Gomphocerinae)

Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N.S.), 2003
Abstract The sounds produced by Parapellopedon instabilis (Rehn, 1906), are described for the first time on the basis of recordings made, in captivity, with an analogical tape recorder. The signals were digitized in the laboratory and analyzed using a software.
