Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, 1980A diet containing 5% ethanol, accounting for 36% of the total calories or a similar diet in which dextrimaltose was isocalorically substituted for ethanol, was fed to sexually mature adult male and female rats to determine whether alcohol feeding of such animals could produce gonadal failure as it does in weanling animals.

Endocrinology, 1969A series of experiments was performed in order to determine the age at which circulating steroids from the ovaries first begin to suppress gonadotropin secretion. Female Sprague- Dawley rats were bilaterally ovariectomized or sham-operated within 24 hr of birth and sacrificed at 5,10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 75 days of age.
