Endocrinology, 1969A series of experiments was performed in order to determine the age at which circulating steroids from the ovaries first begin to suppress gonadotropin secretion. Female Sprague- Dawley rats were bilaterally ovariectomized or sham-operated within 24 hr of birth and sacrificed at 5,10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 75 days of age.

Neuropeptides, 1996In the present paper we have examined the distribution and identity of neuropeptide Y (NPY) immunoreactivity in the prenatal and mature human gonads.
