Traditional pharmaceutical practice in gondar region, northwestern Ethiopia

The knowledge and skills of Ethiopian traditional healers in Gondar region on the pharmaceutical aspects of their practice were assessed using a questionnaire. Of the 86 healers interviewed, only 83 gave responses good enough to be considered in the analysis of results.

Pattern of intussusception at Gondar, Ethiopia.

Thirty three intussusception cases operated at the Gondar College of Medical Sciences hospital are presented. Thirteen of them were infants and the rest older children and adults. Clinical presentation, preoperative management, type of intussusception, cause, surgical procedures, and outcome are analysed.

Congenital malformations in Gondar Hospital, Ethiopia.

A retrospective record analysis of the last six years was done to determine the pattern of congenital malformations in the paediatrics department of Gondar College of Medical Sciences Hospital, North Gondar, Ethiopia. Of a total of 7489 admissions, 191 cases of congenital malformations were found, accounting for about 2.6% of the total admissions.
