Long‐Term Management of a Patient With Obstructive Sleep Apnea Using Multimodal Combination Treatment

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT In this case, we combined oral appliance, continuous positive airway pressure, and sleep surgery for the management of obstructive sleep apnea. It will require a combination of therapies according to the patient's chief complaint and symptoms and not just one therapy for the long‐term management of obstructive sleep apnea.

Prediction of Class II improvement after rapid maxillary expansion in early mixed dentition

open access: yesProgress in Orthodontics, 2017
Background The aim of this study is to identify cephalometric pretreatment parameters for prediction of Class II improvement induced by rapid maxillary expansion. Methods Lateral cephalograms of 30 patients (mean age 8.3 ± 1.6 years old) showing Class II

Early Neanderthal mandibular remains from Baume Moula‐Guercy (Soyons, Ardèche)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 308, Issue 3, Page 892-929, March 2025.
Abstract We provide an ontogenetically‐based comparative description of mandibular remains from Last Interglacial deposits (MIS 5e) at Baume Moula‐Guercy and examine their affinities to European and Middle Eastern Middle‐to‐Late Pleistocene (≈MIS 14—MIS 1) Homo.

Three‐dimensional cone beam computed tomography analysis of craniofacial phenotype in nonobese apneic young adults

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 10, Issue 1, February 2025.
The incidence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is constantly increasing. This study investigated a craniofacial phenotype specific to nonobese apneic young adults in order to facilitate their screening and treatment. Abstract Objective The obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome with its various phenotypes, as assessed by the apnea‐hypopnea index (AHI),

COMPARISON OF GONIAL ANGLE BETWEEN PANORAMIC RADIOGRAPHS AND LATERAL CEPHALOGRAMS IN DIFFERENT SAGITTAL FACIAL PATTERNS

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Medicine and Dentistry, 2019
Background: Gonial angle is extensively used in orthodontics for the diagnosis of the growth pattern. Lateral cephalograms and panoramic radiographs both can be used to assess this angle. The aim of the study was to compare gonial angle measured from

Determination of the gonial angle from the orthopantomogram.

open access: yesThe Angle orthodontist, 1977
This study demonstrates that the size of the gonial angle can be determined from the orthopantomogram with the same degree of accuracy as from the generally used lateral cephalogram, the gonial angle being formed by the tangents of the lower border of the mandible and the distal border of the ascending ramus and the condyle on each side.

Lateral cephalometric analysis of asymptomatic volunteers and symptomatic patients with and without bilateral temporomandibular joint disk displacement [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Few studies of dentofacial and orthodontic structural relationships relative to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction have been reported. We undertook this investigation to determine any correlation of orthodontic and dentofacial characteristics with
