, 1999 치의학과/석사[한글] Gonial angle은 부정교합 환자의 진단과 치료계획 수립시 중요하게 이용되고 있으며, 두개 안면 복합체의 성장방향과 안모형태의 분류 그리고 하악골의 형태학적 및 기능적인 면을 연구하는데 사용되어왔다. 또한 임상적인 치료에 있어 하악 절치의 위치는 치료의 안정성과 하안면부의 심미적인 면에서 중요하며 전후방적인 절치의 위치는 치열궁 장경에 영향을 미쳐 치료계획 중 발치 결정의 중요한 기준으로 사용되고 있다.
