Adaptation of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement Standard Set for Inflammatory Bowel Disease for Routine Collection in Clinical Practice

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Value‐based healthcare (VBHC) is based on evaluating clinical interventions according to their ability to improve outcomes and costs to finally enhance quality of care. As part of an initiative to introduce VBHC in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), our project aimed to adapt the International Consortium for Health Outcomes ...

Protein and Peptide Inhibitors of Mineralization: A Systematic Review of In Vitro Studies

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
In vitro evidence from crystallization assays demonstrates that peptides inhibit mineral nucleation and crystal growth through sequence‐dependent interactions (acidic residues and phosphorylation) with mineral surfaces. In cell cultures, these molecules reduce calcium deposition and ALP activity and modulate the expression of biomineralization‐related ...

A Sequence‐Based Update on Amino Acid Substitutions in Influenza Polymerase Acidic Protein in Europe That Alter Baloxavir Susceptibility From 2009 to 2025

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Influenza causes 650,000 deaths, 3–5 million hospitalizations, and 1 billion cases worldwide each year. There is a limited repertoire of antivirals available to tackle this burden, highlighting the risk of developing resistance to current drugs.

Tropical Cyclone Rainfall Spatial Asymmetries in the Lesser Antilles

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 8, 30 June 2026.
Rainfall is not proportional to the Saffir‐Simpson wind‐based categories. Lower category tropical cyclones (TS, H1, H2 and H3) can generate more intense rainfall than H4 and H5. Rainfall is asymmetric; as a tropical cyclone intensifies or weakens, the location of peak rainfall shifts.

Soil Organic Matter Reduces Persistent Nighttime Surface Warm Bias in Convection‐Permitting U.S. Simulations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Convection‐permitting modeling has become a cornerstone for improving representation of land‐atmosphere processes, predicting weather extremes, and creating long‐term hydrometeorological data sets. The convection‐permitting Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) modeling with the NoahMP land‐surface scheme is widely used for kilometer‐scale ...

Digital speech‐based markers to advance prognosis in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Validated prognostic tools are essential to advance drug development and clinical care in Alzheimer's disease, particularly as the field shifts toward the prevention of cognitive decline. While progress has been made in developing blood‐based biomarkers for the early detection of amyloid pathology, amyloid positivity alone does not reliably ...
