Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Becoming monstrous: Beauty norms, body image, and discursive limits on compassion in The Substance
Abstract Aim This study analyses the Hollywood body horror film The Substance to explore how Western beauty culture regulates emotions and bodies. It aims to explore compassion within dominant body image discourses and considers how this impacts dietetic care. Methods Using Foucauldian discourse analysis informed by affect theory, the film was analysed

On 3‐MMC: A Cathinone I Have Come to Know and Love
ABSTRACT This article attempts to complicate the mythology of a compound in a state of becoming. I will trace lightly its origins as a cultural disruptor and how I am implicated in this imperative. Introducing you to 3‐MMC will require multiple modes of storytelling and taking of liberties, drawing on literature reviews, practice‐based research, prose,

When Jobs Change: Skills Mismatch and the Value of Training
ABSTRACT This article examines the impact of rapidly changing skill requirements on skills mismatch in Europe and the role of training in mitigating adverse effects. Using data on approximately 70 million online job vacancies, we estimate the extent to which occupational skill requirements changed between 2019 and 2023 across European Union (EU ...

Measurement of turbid media by total internal reflection with Goos-Hänchen angle displacement
Based on the Goos-Hänchen effect and the intensity attenuation of the evanescent wave penetrating and traveling, a new theoretical model of total internal reflection from the interface of turbid media is proposed and an analytical reflectance expression ...

Controllable Intrinsic Surface Pattern Generation Using Slime Mold Simulations
Abstract Surface‐based pattern simulations have proven valuable for texture design and scientific visualization, but existing methods face several limitations. Most simulations either target a narrow range of pattern types (e.g. spots, branching) or support a broad range of patterns at the cost of time‐consuming parameter tuning.

Nickel sensitisation in children decreased significantly over time, while dyes and isothiazolinones are emerging allergens. These findings underscore shifting exposure patterns and the need for continuous surveillance to guide effective patch testing and prevention strategies.

Tunable Plasmonic and Hyperbolic Metamaterials Based on Enhanced Nonlinear Response
We present here tunable and reconfigurable designs of linear and nonlinear plasmonic and hyperbolic metamaterials. Rich scattering features of multilayered composite nanoparticles are demonstrated, which include complex and exotic scattering signatures ...
