Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

A Conjugation Delivery System of Macrophages and Platelet Pharmacytes Promotes Regeneration After Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A macrophage–platelet conjugation system (M‐P‐NPs@PPARγ) targets injure tissue to co‐deliver platelet mitochondria and PPARγ‐encoding NPs. This strategy boosts the macrophage energy supply and restores lipid homeostasis, leading to synergistically enhanced efferocytosis and tissue repair Abstract Mitochondrial dysfunction occurs in macrophages with ...

F13A1‐Mediated Macrophage Activation Promotes MASH Progression via the PKM2/HIF1A Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fatty liver disease, hepatocytes exposed to palmitate release S1P, which activates calcium signaling in macrophages. Elevated calcium enhances the activity of F13A1, driving PKM2 dimerization. The PKM2 dimers cause Warburg effect, translocate to the nucleus, cooperate with HIF1A, and upregulate IL1B expression, ultimately promoting classical ...

Cation–Anion Synergy Enables Uniform and Stable SAMs for High‐Efficiency Perovskite/TOPCon Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cation‐anion synergistic strategy is developed to enhance self‐assembled monolayer (SAM) adsorption using guanidinium thiocyanate (GuaSCN). Guanidinium (Gua⁺) suppresses micelle aggregation, while thiocyanate (SCN−) promotes phosphonic acid deprotonation and strengthens ionic bonding to the substrate.

Optimised PCR assays for detecting elusive waterfowl from environmental DNA

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
For many aquatic and semiaquatic mammal, amphibian and fish species, environmental DNA (eDNA) methods are employed to detect species distribution and to monitor their presence, but eDNA is much less employed for avian species.
