Less than 50 km from the border, the Mishina Gora is a highly eroded impact structure. Drilling penetrated 200 m of sedimentary rocks, 600 m of polymict allogenic breccia, and 100 m of authigenic crystalline breccia. The 600 m thickness of allogenic breccia is a distinctive feature for such a relatively small crater.

Žumberška gora je najviše hribovsko območje subpanonskega dela Hrvaške. Funkcionalno spada v Zagrebaško regijo. Čeprav je poleg Zagreba obdajajo še druga, manjša središča samobor, Jastrebarsko in Ozalj, ima Žumberška gora vse značilnosti obrobnega in obmejenoga prostora, kjer prednjačijo negativni demografski in družbeno-gospodarski procesi.
